Seciu has already become a classic race. Why? Because most road cyclists have this competition as their goal. The races start on Strava in the spring and continue until late autumn. The route is apparently simple, in a loop. The start is down on the Bucov – Plopu road, and the finish is up, at the Crama Seciu. A circuit lap is 23.3 km and contains everything you could want from a cycling competition. It starts with a flat and undulating fake, on a field that, invariably, blows a capricious headwind. Which changes from one lap to another so that you always have new and unexpected surprises. Apart from the one where you notice that everyone else is pedaling like they're on a tightrope, and only your legs refuse to stay in the peloton. You escape at the end of the field, you arrive close to the city center, which you don't have time to admire because the climb begins. A price of about 2km that pass in an almost eternity, seasoned with a superb 500m descent. Once you reach the Winery, you don't stop to drink a prosecco, but continue on the initial undulations and whine, you or the brakes, on the long descent, dotted with steeply sloping necks. Like in a kind of roller coaster. With the propulsion provided by your own legs. Those who are out of shape or have never been there, have the Short Tour available, with a length of 63km, 2 and a half laps, that is, 3 climbs of Seciu. The most trained are challenged to participate in the Long Tour, of 110km - 4 and a half laps, that is, 5 climbs of Seciu. The atmosphere during and after the competition is worth it.
