XCO CITADEL

The CETATUIA XCO IASI competition takes place on September 27, 2015 and we want to become an annual event, with local, national and international participation (after the route is approved and included on the International Cycling Union competition list).

The route, due to its difficulty, the type of terrain on which it takes place, the sequence of curves, slopes and ramps is one of the few in its category at national level. In fact, there is only one route in Romania approved for this type of competition, in the Sibiu area and a maximum of 3 more routes that approach the necessary technical characteristics.
From this perspective, IASI will appear on the map of international XCO competitions, a unique opportunity to have other types of competitions besides football, tennis or running.

The route of a single lap has a length of 5 km and a level difference of 200 m. The competition will have a course of 5-6 laps for ELITE and 2-3 laps for amateurs and women.
The race format is an XCO type, which increases its spectacularity, the race can be followed by spectators throughout its duration.

The event itself will last two days, over a weekend (Saturday-Sunday).
On the first day of the event, in addition to the route recognition, a bike test will take place where established bicycle brands will promote their products.
The second day of the event will contain the XCO races, along with a raffles and entertainment program for spectators.
Competitors will be divided into the following categories:
• ELITE (legitimate athletes)
• Open Women
• Under 18
• Between 19 and 29
• Between 29 and 39
• Over 40
