A full-suspension bike has a fork at the front and a shock at the back, so it keeps the wheel glued to the ground over roots and rocks and tires you out less on long rides. What to check on a used full-suspension bike

pivot bearings and bushings: lift the rear wheel and feel for sideways play
the rear shock: a clean shaft, no oil leaks, and the date of the last service
