19 ads for brake calipers, from private sellers and shops nationwide. Typical price: £31.
The caliper is the part of the brake that clamps the rotor: the pistons push the pads, and braking power depends on their number and diameter. You need a separate caliper when you've damaged one in a crash, when you move from two to four pistons or when you're building a bike from parts.
Shimano has the most calipers on Biklo, followed by Magura, SRAM, Avid and Formula. After fitting, the caliper is bled together with the lever; if you don't have the tools, ask a workshop for help. Calipers are small and travel easily by courier or to a parcel locker.
Most brake calipers ads are priced between £16 and £47; the typical price is £31.
